The application for the 2018 Summer Dance Intensive is now available. The Summer Dance Intensive is a three-week program in classical ballet and modern dance for advanced students who are dedicated, disciplined, and dance with a generosity of spirit.
The Ailey School offers young dancers ages 11 to 15 the opportunity to study in New York City, the cultural center of the world. A 5-week session is offers a variety of dance techniques and performing opportunties.
Students will have daily ballet technique, and take supplemental classes in various techniques, choreography\repertory, dance history, master classes taught by master artists from Dance Theatre of Harlem and guests. Field trips to select performances in NYC round off these robust intensives.
The Jacobs School of Music Musical Arts Center is the main location for IU Jacobs operas, ballets, and band and orchestra concerts. Seating 1,460, the MAC features an acoustically refined auditorium and stage with technical capabilities unrivaled by other schools.
