Nope. Dragon Ball Z is nowhere near the best, and quite frankly whoever says otherwise either has a horrible taste in anime, nostalgia is clowding their judgment or they have not watched enough to anime to know any better.

Cowboy Bebop is not only a likely candidate for the best anime of all time, but I can go as far as putting this in at least top 100 best television programs ever made. The story is gripping and leaves you eager for more at the end of every episode. The characters are fun and memorable.

Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood
Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood

Is Steins;Gate the 3rd best anime of all time?Hell no.I still gave it a high score. just because a lot of people give Brotherhood high score doesn't necessarily mean they think it's the best of all time.A lot of people watch Brotherhood and a lot of them end up enjoying it,it's one of the shows that could appeal to a lot of people (and it's well made enough to see why),that's all there is to it.

Angel Beats!
Angel Beats!

Angel Beats!, an anime hailed by many to be one of the best, if not the best anime ever, but also an anime many think its bad and seriously overrated. So where does it stand? Well, it isn't downright terrible, but it's not the best anime there is either, no, it's not even close to it.

Kill la Kill
Kill la Kill

There's an element of political incorrectness to vengeance-seeking protagonist Ryuuko Matoi's sexy outfit common to a lot of anime which is clearly the product of male wish fulfilment fantasies, but none of this stops Kill La Kill being one of the most fun and intense action animes of all time.

Dragon Ball z is the best. Is the father of all manga anime. If Dragon ball z wasn't exist Naruto and the others also wasn't exist. The nine tails fox is a copy by the giant monkey from Dragon Ball z. No show reinvented a genre like DBZ. They showed that fast paced action was awesome. Hajime no Ippo
Hajime no Ippo

Always loved Hajime no Ippo, and I definitely recommend it to anyone who likes Kuroko no Basket. The methods of story telling are moreorless the same, and the biggest difference between the two being that Ippo has more outlandish characters in general. And like Kuroko, Ippo is plagued with pacing problems. But hey.

Watch this anime. You will feel for the character, and the soundtrack is one of the best I have ever seen, and the storyline will nearly bring you to tears, both in happiness, sadness and frustration. From one of the most loved studios, another masterpiece. Eureka Seven has been one of the best (if not the single best) stories I have ever been told.

Dragon Ball GT

Nostalgia aside, how does the classic Dragon Ball Z rank up to some of today's great animes and mangas? Terror in Resonance
Terror in Resonance

A long, long time ago I reviewed a little show called Eden of the East, the perfect comparison to Terror in Resonance. Each is dealing with politics, each deals with explosives, and each makes very little sense to an outside viewer due to the political and historical concepts being explored and criticized.

Princess Tutu
Princess Tutu

With all that said, it is a bit strange that there’s only one anime dedicated 100% to ballet. Princess Tutu is a beautiful story that mixes two fairytales, The Ugly Duckling and Swan Lake, with the grace of Ballet and the traditional Japanese magical girl.

Kino's Journey
Kino's Journey

After a long hiatus from my regular anime viewing due to school, I was a bit skeptical of picking it back up by watching a story about a girl traveling around the world with a talking motorcycle. It sounded boring, plain, and dull no matter how many tens of times people told me otherwise.

Haibane Renmei
Haibane Renmei

For this reason, Haibane Renmei has some of the best characters ever conceived in an anime. Overall. In the end, what makes Haibane Renmei so great isn’t the symbolism, but how the anime combines this symbolism with its excellent character development to create a powerful human fable.

Sword Art Online
Sword Art Online

Death Note

Paranoia Agent
Paranoia Agent

While Paranoia Agent is an action/suspense/crime thiller-esque type of anime, what most intrigued me about it was the *almost* confusing plot line. Don't misunderstand me - that's not a bad thing. It forces you to think and pay attention, which is a nice addiction to the action genre.
