MS Viking Star cruise ship (launched in 2015) is the first in a series of 10 identical vessels built for Viking Ocean Cruises. The sister-ships are named Viking Sea (2016), Viking Sky (2017), Viking Sun (2017) and Viking Orion (2018). In 2017, Viking Ocean announced plans for a 10-vessel fleet of identical ships.

Royal Caribbean transferred two ships to its Spanish subsidiary, Pullmantur, in 2008: Empress of the Seas in March and Sovereign of the Seas in October. Monarch of the Seas was transferred to Pullmantur in 2013. However, Empress of the Seas was transferred back to Royal Caribbean in 2016 after a massive refurbishment.
