Looking for a place to see it all? Head over to the Franklin D. Roosevelt Four Freedoms Park at the southernmost tip of the Island, where you have a stunning view of Manhattan, Roosevelt Island, and Brooklyn (in the distance). Opened to the public in 2012, the park is New York’s newest treasure and the first park in New York dedicated to FDR.
And while the benches do get a bit crowded for lunchtime, in the end, what I really love Union Square for isn't the park itself, but all the shopping, restaurants, and people watching in the two block radius outside the park. This is a great pitstop in between all these attractions.
