Anyways, Grave of the Fireflies is a true masterpiece of cinema and considered one of the saddest and greatest anime movies of all time ...more. Only the thought about this movie is enough to make you cry. And I have to mention that there's something more than just a tragedy and mourning the loss of a loved one.
Texhnolyze, and to be honest nothing in this thread even comes close to how soul-crushingly depressing this anime is (even Grave of the Fireflies is a stretch). It's not really a tearjerker though. More of a "makes you dead inside" kind of show. edit: except for Barefoot Gen, that movie was incredibly depressing.

Future Diary or Mirai Nikki, is one of the saddest anime out there fr viewers to cry over. It's not just the ending that brings out the emotions in this one, but the entire series.
