Having now tried the standard Laphroaig 10, the Cask Strength, and the Quarter Cask, I have found the Quarter Cask to be the one I keep coming back to. Powerful smoke, wood, and more smoke.

Price: $50 This is the scotch-drinker's scotch. A scotch that tastes like scotch—burnt rubber, smoke, and Robitussin, oh my! But, I'll be damned if it's not delicious. Laphroaig is a whisky giant that has been going strong since 1815, so you know you can trust them.

The Macallan 25 Year Old Sherry Oak. The 12 is a definite stand by in my collection. For those of us that collect and drink scotch but can't afford 300 dollar bottles, this is one of those drams that needs to be in the cupboard. It's not the greatest whisky around, but it is very good and very smooth. Vanilla and fruit abound.
