that bitsy minnow seems to be a killer. i never heard of crappie fishing with a crank bait until i started visiting this forum. this site is not good for the pocket book. especially with me leaving several jigs and crankbaits in the trees around the creek.
Rated 4 out of 5 by The Breeze from Drag Knob on Penn Spinfisher V Spinning I have used Penn spinning reels for over 30 years mostly for surf fishing the Outer Banks of NC. I just purchased 2 of the Spinfisher V Spinning 6500. The drag knob rattles and rocks back and forth at any setting whether it is tight at 30lbs or loose at 5lbs.
Shimano Saragosa SW Review The Shimano Saragosa has been on the market for a number of years with its last revision in 2013. if you have been looking at Shimano’s lineup of larger fishing reels for your offshore fishing, then the Saragosa is going to fall below the Twin Power SW and the Stella SW reels when it comes to price point and features.
The choice of fishing reels these days can be overwhelming, and I am often asked which style of reel I prefer for lure casting; bait caster or spinning reel? In my charters, I am often faced with a situation where some of my clients are not accomplished anglers, yet the most effective technique for the conditions involves casting.
The spincast reel sits on top of the rod similar to the baitcasting reel, whereas the spinning reel hangs below the rod. The spincast reel mimics the spinning reel spool and how it controls the fishing line coming off and on (both have the spool facing toward rod line guides).
