The first generation Basenji / Beagle Mix is a cross between a pure Basenji and a pure Beagle, although subsequent generations may have different proportions of the two breeds in the mix. This isn't a common mix, but you may occasionally encounter it in a rescue.
The Bagle Hound is a mix of the Beagle and a Basset Hound and has a lifespan of ten to fifteen years. He is an average sized dog known for being social, playful, loyal and quite intelligent. They have the nose like any hound and can follow a scent for miles.
In 1945, the Black and Tan Coonhound became the first of the six varieties of Coonhound to be recognized by the American Kennel Club, in the Hound Group. The other varieties, which were not recognized until the 2010s, are the Redbone Coonhound, Plott Hound, Bluetick Coonhound, the English Coonhound, and the Treeing Walker Coonhound.
