#22: Chestnut Brown Hair with Bangs When you are looking through pictures of chestnut hair, it becomes easier to identify the different shades of brown and figure out which one will work for you. If it is an all-over color that you’re after, this dark chestnut brown is a great option.
Unlike a semi-permanent, this really covers grey (I'm about 25% grey, with shoulder-length, dark to medium brown hair). Now, a word of warning--I use 5N, which is supposed to be "Light Chestnut Brown" but I have found that the actual color is closer to Medium Brown, especially if I leave it on as long as I have to to completely cover my stubborn greys (about 45 minutes on the roots).
Chocolate brown hair is the best way to take brunette hair color up a notch. The key to the color is warmth, depth, and glossiness. Adding in cinnamon tones to the bottoms and ends personalizes your style and gives you an opportunity to look simply luminous in the sunlight.
