Types of Commerce
There are many types of e-commerce, but perhaps the most common is business to business (B2B) e-commerce. This type of transaction is when both parties involved are businesses. Not all consumers are familiar with this type of e-commerce, though, since most of their own transactions would be classified as business-to-consumer (B2C) e-commerce.
Business to consumer (B2C) refers to the transactions conducted directly between a company and consumers who are the end-users of its products or services. The business to consumer as a business model differs significantly from the business-to-business model, which refers to commerce between two or more businesses.
Business-to-government (B2G) is a business model that refers to businesses selling products, services or information to governments or government agencies. B2G networks or models provide a way for businesses to bid on government projects or products that governments might purchase or need for their organizations.
This part of e-commerce encompasses all transactions conducted online between companies and public administration. This is an area that involves a large amount and a variety of services, particularly in areas such as fiscal, social security, employment, legal documents and registers, etc.
C2B business models include reverse auctions, in which customers name the price for a product or service they wish to buy. Another form of C2B occurs when a consumer provides a business with a fee-based opportunity to market the business's products on the consumer's blog.
C2C e-commerce is a convenient way for consumers to buy and sell goods without getting in their cars and driving to a store. Business Model C2C e-commerce differs from a business-to-business model or a business-to-consumer model because consumers interact directly with each other.
The C2A and A2C categories have emerged in the last decade. C2A examples include applications such as e-democracy. a-voting, information about public services and e-health.

G2C (Government to Citizen) is a term that refers to the relationships between organizations (subjects) of public administration and a citizen(s). The designation can be used for any relationship between the subject of public administration and the citizen, most often it is used as one of the basic relationship within e-Government models.
