In addition to annual food drives like Stamp Out Hunger, you can donate food year-long at select locations across Central Texas and at our headquarters. We can make the most of your non-perishable food donation when you consider three things: nutrition, usefulness, and quality vs. quantity.
Community outreach centers often accept clothing donations, and any clothing you donate will be given to a needy family in your area. For example, my local community outreach center does an annual clothing drive to collect school uniforms, coats, and play clothes for low-income kids in my area.
Soup kitchens have evolved from a functional way of feeding troops in Europe more than 200 years ago to an essential service for the homeless and hungry in the United States. Churches and civic groups today are the leaders of soup kitchen volunteer organizations, and they operate in every state.
