Types of Conduit

UL & CSA Unjacketed Flexible Electrical Conduit "Reduced Wall Flex". It is made of a high strength aluminum alloy, approximately 1/3 the weight of RWS. Made in sizes 3/8" through 4". Type ABRH: Aluminum "Heavy Wall Flex". It is UL listed & CSA certified, non-jacketed flexible aluminum conduit with many universal wiring applications.

Type 2 - Rigid Metal Conduit (RMC) / Rigid Steel Conduit (RSC) RVCs and RSCs are your heaviest and thickest option, typically made of coated steel, stainless steel, red brass or aluminum. These pipes can be installed above ground or underground.

Intermediate metal conduit, or IMC, is a rigid steel electrical conduit designed for outdoor exposure and strong connections. It was designed specifically to protect insulated electrical conductors and cables. It does the work of a similar metal conduit, rigid metal conduit (RMC), but weighs about a third less.

Galvanized Rigid Steel Conduit (GRC, RMC) is the heaviest weight and thickest wall of electrical conduits. Allied Tube & Conduit ® ’s Galvanized Rigid Steel Conduit is hot-dip galvanized for corrosion resistance and is considered non-combustible. Galvanized Rigid Steel Conduit (GRC, RMC) can be used indoors, outdoors, underground, concealed or exposed.

Electrical Metallic Tubing (EMT) Electrical metallic tubing (EMT), also commonly called thin-wall, is a listed steel raceway of circular cross section, which is unthreaded, and nominally 10′ long. 20′ lengths are also available.
