Types of Elevator

Pneumatic Vacuum Elevators LLC is the designer and manufacturer of the vacuum elevator. PVE currently manufactures three versions of its air driven residential elevators, ranging from single to a three-passenger, wheelchair-accessible home elevator.

Schumacher Roped Hydraulic Elevators are a less expensive means of serving more landings than a typical traction elevator. The elevator uses a combination of cables and a piston to extend the rise of a holeless hydraulic elevator by a ratio of 2 to 1. Roped Hydraulic Elevators eliminate the risk of drilling in unknown or poor soil conditions.

Traction elevators are the most common type of elevators. Elevator cars are pulled up by means of rolling steel ropes over a deeply grooved pulley, commonly called a sheave in the industry. The weight of the car is balanced by a counterweight since 1900.
