Simple columnar epithelium. A simple columnar epithelium is a columnar epithelium that is uni-layered. In humans, a simple columnar epithelium lines most organs of the digestive tract including the stomach, small intestine, and large intestine. Simple columnar epithelia line the uterus.
Lungs. Simple squamous epithelium lines the air sacs, or alveoli, of the lungs. The alveoli are sites where air is exchanged in the lungs. Simple squamous epithelial cells in the alveoli allow oxygen from the air to enter the blood in the capillaries of the lung.
Stratified cuboidal epithelium. Stratified cuboidal epithelium is a type of epithelial tissue composed of multiple layers of cube-shaped cells. Only the most superficial layer is made up of cuboidal cells, and the other layers can be cells of other types.
The difference between Keratinized and Non-keratinized Squamous Epithelium are given below: Kertinized Suamous Epithelium: 1. The cells of few outer layers of stratified squamous epithetium replace their cytoplasm with a hard water proof protein. 2. The layers of flat dead cells-stratum corneum or horney layers are present. 3.
