Gen 3's are so dated, especially with the plastic guide rod, I would stay clear. Gen 4's are good, but they lack the goodies on the Gen 5. Don't let the little cut out on the front cheat you out of the rest of the Gen 5 goodness. I would pay $100 more for a Gen 5. Thankfully, I get LE price, so it was enough even bigger no brainer. In short, Gen 5.
