Types of Goblins

Blood Thief
Blood Thief

The Blood Thief is a special type of Treasure Goblin added to the game in Patch 2.1.2. These goblins are dark red in color with a purple glow, and they drop Blood Shards (no gold or items), which are used as a currency for gambling.

Gem Hoarder
Gem Hoarder

The Gem Hoarder is a special type of Treasure Goblin added to the game in Patch 2.1.2. These goblins are silver or chrome in color, and they drop gems when pursued, then large stacks of gems upon death.

Malevolent Tormentor

The Malevolent Tormentor, Spiteful Sprite is a variant of the Treasure Goblin in Diablo III, introduced patch 2.1.2. They have greatly increased chances to drop Legendary Items when killed, scaling with difficulty, up to the point where they are guaranteed to drop those, or even drop more than one.

Menagerist Goblin

The Menagerist Goblin, Napper of Pets is a variant of the Treasure Goblin in Diablo III, introduced in patch 2.4.1. It can only appear in Adventure Mode, usually in open world (but on rare occasions, can spawn in Nephalem Rifts as well).

The Odious Collector is a special type of Treasure Goblin added to the game in Patch 2.1.2. These goblins are green in color and they drop crafting materials of white, blue, and yellow quality, as well as legendary item crafting plans.

Rainbow Goblin

The animation for Rainbow Goblins is the same, but their graphic is identical to the rainbow goblin plushie, a merch item. In the game Rainbow Goblins thus look softer and have more rounded, fuzzy edges, as opposed to the harder, sharper contours of other Goblin types.
