While the majority of these disciplines are based in a single art modality, however, expressive arts therapy integrates therapeutic tools and techniques from many different art forms.

Cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) is a psycho-social intervention that is the most widely used evidence-based practice for improving mental health. Guided by empirical research, CBT focuses on the development of personal coping strategies that target solving current problems and changing unhelpful patterns in cognitions (e.g. thoughts, beliefs, and attitudes), behaviors, and emotional regulation.

I agree on ice with acute injury, but if you think Athletic Trainers do not ice chronic injuries then please observe any traditional athletic training facility at the end of practice.

Joint Mobilization

Physical therapists will use joint mobilization techniques when the articular structures limit the motion of joints; producing arthrokinematic (sliding, distraction, pivoting) movements that need to occur with normal motion. Mobilization techniques are graded and varied based on the acuity of the condition and pain tolerances. Restoring normal joint mobility early in the treatment program will ultimately lead to a quicker return to normal motion.
