Gala is a clonally propagated apple cultivar with a mild and sweet flavor. Gala apples ranked at number 2 in 2006 on the US Apple Association's list of most popular apples, after Red Delicious and before Golden Delicious, Granny Smith, and Fuji (in order).

Gala, Rome Beauty, Stayman, and Golden Delicious are highly recommended. Juice —Choose a combination of apples to achieve the sweet/tart flavor you prefer. Red Delicious is one of the most famous American apples, and one of the most widely grown apple varieties. Although the names are similar, Red Delicious and Golden Delicious are entirely different varieties.
