Hermit crabs are most definitely edible in the sense that "edible" means "able to be consumed without harmful side effects". They lack venom, and if cooked properly, do not spread disease. Nobody eats them, but that's another thing. Also, you're better off with a regular crab if I do say so myself. They have much more meat, and I hope a higher quality. read more
Without toys, hermit crabs like to hide, or sleep. Providing a dark, hiding spot is important. They like to hide away in small areas to rest. Some hermit crabs spend all day picking at water droplets on the side of the aquarium tank, which you should have. The tank and hermit crabs must be misted with water at least once a day. read more
