Are smokers happier people?

I can only speak for myself by making comparisons between smoker Neil and non-smoker Neil but I assume smokers are as happy or sad as any other group of people. I started smoking occasionally when I was 13. I think I was a “proper” smoker by the age of 15. read more

I have observed that cigar smokers tend to be a little happier, definitely more at peace with themselves. Cigarette smokers I would say are equally likely to be as happy as their non smoking peers. read more

Certainly, higher cigarette prices would make smokers healthier. There is plenty of evidence that smoking is very bad for you, and almost as much evidence that people smoke fewer cigarettes if they are expensive. But "healthy smokers" are not the same thing as happy smokers. read more
