Some dinosaurs had feathers, that is true. But not all. Feathers seem to be at least a coelurosaur (tyrannosaurs, ornithomimosaurs, compsognathids, raptors, egg thieves, etc) trait; maybe a tetanurine (coelurosaurs, spinosaurs, Allosaurus and kin, etc) trait. But it's not diagnostic for dinosaurs. read more
