Has anyone ever been stung by a bee?

Wasps are more common where I live. No use rearing bees this north. I haven't been stung by a bee (I would be lucky to find one) but once I was stung by a wasp. I accidentally stepped on it. My sister (23y) was stung by a bumble bee this spring. She was sleeping and this creature climbed inside her shirt through her neckline/cleavage and stung her. read more

My wife and I are beekeepers and have both been stung on multiple occasions. When I get stung it’s a hot, burning sensation like being pricked with a hot needle. After about 5 minutes the pain completely fades away and all that is left is a tiny red dot, which is gone by the next day. read more

In areas where there are Africanized bees, I know of people who have been stung scores of times, sometimes a hundred times or more. That is similar to, or worse than, being bitten by, say, a rattlesnake. read more
