Serenity (2005 movie). The entire movie is a treatise on how people trying to control other people, through whatever means they try (including, but not limited to religion), are a threat to society. People shouldn't be controlled. They should know the truth. The Alliance is metaphor for government and religious control. read more

I'd argue that The Mission is arguably the best faith based film there is. Robert De Niro's penance and release are about as beautiful a depiction of Reconciliation I can think of. The social mission of the Church is in glorious view. read more
