Competitive free markets and property rights stimulate the technological innovations and behavioral changes required to protect our environment and ecosystems. Private landowners and conservation groups have a vested interest in maintaining natural resources. read more

A libertarian government would be careful not to harm that part of the environment (that would be a big improvement). Much of the remainder could be sold to non-governmental interests to fund government and reduce government expenditures. As others have pointed out, private interests protect assets far better than does government. read more
