The change in flavor is mainly affected by packaging and how long before it gets frozen. Packaging: If you have vacuum sealed chicken it will last quite a while. Frozen chicken stays good almost indefinitely, or at least long enough until you desire eating them. I would recommend only defrosting if you plan to cook and eat. Cooked chicken can be stored in a air tight bag or sealed plasticware for awhile too, but I try to eat in within a week after cooking. read more
