As others have stated, the NFL and college play four 15 min. quarters. Most high schools play four 12 min quarters. As a general rule, NFL and college games last a little over 3 hours and a high school game usually around 2 1/2 hours. A lot of variables can go into this, especially in high school. read more
The quarters are 12 minutes and half-time is usually 15, but can be anywhere from 10 to 20. You can generally figure that 1 minute of "football time" is about 3 minutes of "real time." Then again, I had a game that went three hours last night with no overtime. read more
