Ever since Nepal came under the rule of the Shahs, Nepal was closed for trade. As Nepal expanded, the British Empire felt that it would hamper their own expansionist policy. So, a war broke out from 1814–1816 with the help of Rajas who had lost their territories to Nepal. read more
