What is an RTS element?

RTS stands for real time strategy. Games in the RTS genre typically feature a top down view, and allow you to give orders to your units, including orders to move to a specific spot on the map, an order to attack an enemy unit or an order to perform some sort of action in the in game world. read more

RTS differs in that (in its purest form) it doesn't involve taking turns. The "strategy" part is a little harder to define, because one could argue that most FPS games feature at least an element of strategy (even more boldly, one could argue that all games feature some element of strategy). read more
