West Vancouver: the most costly area. Live here if you can afford a $5 million house. It has the same commuting and rain issue except only ONE bridge. If it has a problem, you are screwed. (Clarification: North and West Vancouver are both on the “North Shore” which is across Burrard Inlet from the rest of the city). Surrey: don’t live here. It’s the Detroit of Vancouver. read more
Keep in mind that, except for the Downtown Eastside, all Vancouver neighborhoods are wonderful places to live and all include such amenities as libraries, community centers, medical clinics, parks, and easy access to public transit. read more
