Moscato is a grape that (it is believed) originated in Italy. It is also called Muscat in the USA. Wines made from that grape are usually called Moscato or Muscat. read more

Champagne (in the correct technical sense) only applies to sparkling wines made in the Champagne region of France. Champagnes from France do NOT contain Moscato grapes. However (like Kleenex used with facial tissues) the word champagne is often used to refer to any sparkling wine made anywhere in the world, and has become a generic term for sparkling wines with many people. read more
