What is the life of a farmer in rural America like?

I have lived on a small farm my entire life. In the words of John Denver "Early to rise, early in the sack...Thank God I'm a country boy." This holds true to this very day. When I see my family members I realize just how close knit we are. I see this as a lost way of life. read more

Most small farmers were forced to sell their land in the 1970s and 1980s, and therefore most American farmers either have vast land holdings, or farming is done by corporations. It's all mechanized, sprayed, fumigated, and very very large. read more
