One thing that you need to understand is in India vet schools are part of Agricultural schools and hence the entire curriculum is geared towards large animal preventive medicine which is a good thing (our country has one of the largest cattle population in the world) (Think dairy farming, sheep & goat husbandry, poultry etc), with the result, that very little attention is given to individualized medicine that is required for small pets (dogs and cats). read more

I believe a veterinarian should definitely be granted this authority in these extreme cases.And they should have authority to initiate an investigation into the breeding operation. No one should be breeding animals if they don’t have a veterinary fund. read more
