Yes, the Rhino will charge the Hippo if the fight is on land and maybe strike the Hippo with his horn (if the horn hasn’t been poached already), but due to the Hippo’s skin toughness and fat content the Rhino will only wound the Hippo. read more
If that is so, then hippo would win on both land and water. Something like a pygmy hippo would not have a chance against a rhino though. Hippos are EXTREMELY aggressive, to the point that they kill more people in Africa per year than all other mammals combined. read more
