That means that Hummers are putting 3 times as much carbon dioxide (CO2) that my car (a minivan) does. A minivan transports even more people than a Hummer yet uses 3 times less gas. This is why people pick on Hummers, because they ARE bad for the environment. Also Silverados are uses to transport stuff so people don't pick on them as much. read more
No vehicle is bad for the environment if it is the minimum necessary to do the job. No one complains about the mileage of 18 wheelers because they haul so much of our goods to market. If the hummer is necessary to get the job done it is no worse than any other vehicle. read more
