In 1807, with the Slave Trade Act that year’s passing in Parliament, Britain outlawed the slave trade in their colonial possessions; but slavery itself was not abolished in the British Empire until the Slavery Abolition Act of 1833, which abolished slavery itself in British colonies. read more
