Why do atheists insist that atheism is not an ideology?

Theism is an ideology. A-theism (not theism) is not. Religions are forms of ideology. Theists know their gods primarily through the ideology of their religion. They assume atheists follow some sort of counter ideology in order not to believe in the god of their religion. But, in fact, the ideology of any religion is irrelevant to one who has no belief in any god or gods, i.e. an atheist. read more
