Theism is an ideology. A-theism (not theism) is not. Religions are forms of ideology. The existence or nonexistence of gods, however, is ultimately factual (even if it cannot be proven at the moment). Atheists are all about gods, not religion (non ideology). Theists know their gods primarily through the ideology of their religion. They assume atheists follow some sort of counter ideology in order not to believe in the god of their religion.
