Why do some people dislike Black History Month?

These people don't understand that their idea of black history isn't "black history." It's African History. Some curriculums may glean over a bit of Africa's history, in 7th grade, my teacher spent a week reviewing basic history of the continent which included some of the different cultures and tribal traditions, regional climate differences, food preparation and crops and Apartheid. read more

Probably because it seems racist, to racist people. Other than that I don't know many white people who really care that much one way or another. Edited: I mistakenly said that Black History month is racist. That was a mistake. I have corrected the sentence. read more
