Two snakes entwined on a rod topped by a pair of wings. Hermes is a Greek god associated with commerce and a protector of thieves and has got nothing to do with medicine. The actual symbol should be the rod of Asclepius, a staff with a serpent encircling it. The logo of WHO incorporates this symbol. read more
