The fact is they do eat the other fish in the aquarium. Any time you have an enclosed echosystem fish get sick or injured that is the dinner bell to any predator. read more

For this reason, sharks should be avoided at all cost (by both beginning and experienced fish keepers) except if you are willing to house them in a huge tank with a huge filtration system.
