I think age has much to do with it, but also the realisation that wherever you go in the world people are basically the same in their outlook on life, their cares, interests and fancies. People are really the reason we travel. read more
I don't find the journey part of travelling exciting. For a few reasons: I hate planes. I am not scared of air travel, I just find it mind numbingly boring. I dislike the recycled air and being cooped up with so many people in a confined space. I dislike sitting for long periods of time. I find plane food awful. read more
Sure there are many people who don't like travelling, and then there are those who don't like particular types of travel. Personally I love travelling, I love new experiences, I love beautiful scenery, exotic locations, new languages and food and seeing a bigger world. read more
And it certainly can be a reason why people don’t travel. I remember getting on plane to Paris as a 15 year old, going to live in France for a year on my own. It was on a student exchange programme. read more
