Gi jiu jitsu can be very hard on your fingers, particularly if you are a spider-guard player. Here is a picture of my fingers after 7+ years of jiu jitsu (gi only). Playing guard with the gi will create tremendous stress on your finger joints. Notice the large calluses on the joint right before my finger nails. read more
