There is a a old german fairy tale the Grimm Brothers heard and wrote diwn. It was translated to English as Snow White and Rose Red. This is an entirely different character from Snow White of Seven Dwarves fame. The first Snow White does have a sister. The one in Seven Dwarves wad an only child as far as i kniw.
