The baby starfish will spend a few days developing its organs and will then start to feed and grow. After a few years the star reaches sexual maturity and begins spawning, often on an annual cycle. It’s worth noting that, when preparing to spawn, as much as 30% of a star’s body weight is reproductive material. read more
