Well, to a degree yes. It really depends on the universities you're comparing and the firm you're applying to. Large London / US firms are incredibly competitive, and some university discrimination may occur. But this will be universities with large differences in reputation, rather than a few places on a league table. read more

People will sell their souls to get into Oxbridge or into the Russel Group of universities, which is comprised of older, more established institutions than the recent foundations, many of which were miraculously converted into universities by Thatcherian fiat but were not given the funding necessary to really equip them for that role. read more
