I once heard an Irish guy on British radio say (in a joking/good-humored way) that so many Irish people have moved to England it would be more accurate to say the Irish colonized the English than the other way around lol. read more
As of that same 2001 UK census, people from Ireland were the highest foreign born group living in the United Kingdom. 2015 estimates indicate that Indian, Polish and Pakistani people have surpassed Irish people but there are still roughly 504,000 Irish people living in the UK. read more
