What are your views on military nursing service?

I remember talking to a fellow student at our University of Cincinnati graduation who joined the Navy and got a commission during the ceremony. I asked her why she was doing this now. This occurred in 1989. She said since she now had a BSN, she could be an officer and choose her base. read more

She explained the military liked well rounded nurses and she would be able to change from cardiac nursing to labor and delivery nursing, for example, without starting over on the pay grade. She would be granted leave to further her education and it could be funded. read more
