Why do people on death row get last meals?

Like others have mentioned, this is to signify the civility of the execution. As in, society’s execution of the convicted is more humane compared to the heinous crime that was committed to get the death row conviction in the first place. However, I want to take it one step further as to why a last meal is important. read more
