Will Montreal ever get another MLB team?

I would not be surprised to see Montreal get a new Major League Baseball team by 2030. Since 2014, annual preseason games hosted by the Toronto Blue Jays have averaged crowds of 50,000 fans. While this is just 2 games per year and likely would not happen every day of an 81 game home slate, the people of Montreal seem to be ready to accept a new team. read more

Montreal had a team that was one of the best in the league before the strike. Then the fans went away forever. Oh, and the team was in Canada, the home of everything hockey in this world, so that didn't help. Montreal might get another chance, but it won't be anytime soon. read more

With a population approaching four million, Montreal is the largest city in Canada or the U.S. that does not currently have a major-league baseball team. Internationally, Mexico City had previously been discussed, but not as much recently. read more
