How do you mean? Family is the first community one encounters. Family (unless something catastrophic happens) stays with one for the rest of his/her days. School is not the first community one encounters. Generally only the knowledge remains. Friends, teachers, enemies… They all fade away as people grow apart. read more

School has not replaced family. In the past people were taught by family or tutors but tended to gather in small groups because school provides a social function outside of the family, and learning in small groups is actually more efficient and students like it better. read more
