Is it a wise idea to mix your Lego sets?

To my knowledge, if you would exchange a completely identical brick between two sets, there is no way to figure out that the bricks have been swapped. I'm not sure if users, for example on Bricklink, would expect that they get the very same bricks that came out of a box if they buy a second hand model. read more

Depends on what you want to do with them. If you only want to build the sets that you own, then don't. Similarly, if you're looking to re-sell the sets later (when you're tired of them, or what-have-you), then again, don't. read more

The first mix to do is for the sets in a single theme. A theme typically has a few key parts by design, so you will have a few more of those key parts from the smaller sets to enhance the ideas of the larger sets. As your collection grows, you might like to keep key parts of some themes in their own bags or boxes. read more
